One to one, never a group

What does one-to-one maths tuition with Educamus involve?

Every student starts in a different place. Some need help filling gaps from earlier years. Others understand the subject but struggle with exam technique, confidence or particular topics.

Before tuition begins, an Educamus course consultant speaks to you about the student’s current level, what they are finding difficult, what they want to achieve and the type of tutor likely to suit them.

We then match them with a tutor who stays with them throughout their tuition. Sessions can take place at home in Edinburgh or online, with regular progress updates as the course develops.

  • Vetted tutors who are PVG compliant under Scotland’s Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme
  • A dedicated course consultant to support you throughout the course
  • Qualified teachers, professional tutors and strong university students
  • STEM tutors through our partnership with Glasgow University Rocketry
  • Regular progress reports
  • Access to the Educamus employability workshop

If the first tutor is not the right fit, the next session with a different tutor is free.

What do parents say about Educamus?

Parents and students have left hundreds of reviews about their experience with Educamus Tuition.

Couldn’t recommend these guys enough. Proof is in the pudding though and it’s really shown her potential getting an A for her Math prelim, when her aim was initially to just get a pass.
Ian MacadamOnline Maths and Chemistry, National 5
My S2 son has been having weekly online Maths tuition with Ryder for a few months now. In his latest Maths test since the tuition he scored 82% which has given him a much needed boost. Ryder has been superb at building his ability and confidence!

A consultant calls you

A course consultant will contact you within 24 hours.

We will talk through the student’s current level, what they are finding difficult, what they want to achieve and whether home or online tuition would work best.

We match a maths tutor

We choose a tutor based on the subject, level, availability and the type of person we think will work well with the student.

If the first match is not right, the next session with a different tutor is free.

Weekly sessions begin

Most students start with one hour each week with the same tutor.

Your tutor gets to know the student’s strengths, the areas that need more work and what was covered in previous sessions, while Educamus keeps you updated on progress.

Advanced Higher, GCSE, A Level and college or university maths tuition costs £55 per hour and is provided online.

All prices include VAT.

Will my child get the same maths tutor every week?

Yes.

Students work with the same tutor each week so the tutor gets to know how they learn, what they have already covered and where they need more support.

If the first tutor is not the right match, the next session with a different tutor is free.

Are Educamus maths tutors PVG checked?

Yes. Educamus tutors are vetted and PVG compliant under Scotland’s Protecting Vulnerable Groups scheme.

GCSE Maths, A Level Maths and some college and university maths tuition are also available online.

Is home tuition or online maths tuition better?

It depends on the student.

Some students prefer having a tutor sitting beside them at home. Others are completely comfortable working online.

Online tuition also gives us a wider pool of tutors to choose from, which can be particularly useful for Higher, Advanced Higher and specialist subjects.

Your course consultant can talk through both options before you decide.

How quickly will we hear back after a consultation request?

Within 24 hours.

A course consultant will contact you to discuss the student’s level, what they need help with and what you would like tuition to achieve.

Most students begin with one hour each week.

Some increase this around prelims or final exams, while others continue with a single weekly session.

We can recommend an approach once we understand the student’s level, goals and timescale.

Can you help a student who is already getting good maths grades?

Yes.

Not every student comes to Educamus because they are struggling. We also work with students who are already doing well and want to move up a grade, prepare for an exam or step up to a more advanced level.

Melissa, for example, was already passing Higher Maths and moved from a B to an A.

What happens if we have to cancel a maths session?

Give us as much notice as possible and we will try to move the session to another date at no extra cost.

Sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the start time may still be charged.
